- The cancel button does not show. Check Renew Forge → Settings → One-click cancel button. Payment methods that do not support cancellation get no button — the Compliance check lists those subscriptions; move them to another method, or cancel them yourself as soon as the customer asks and send a written confirmation. If the My account page lacks the account area (
[woocommerce_my_account]), the Compliance check says so. On a page built with blocks, add the Subscription cancellation block. - A customer says no confirmation email arrived. Check the journal entry:
email_statussays sent, disabled or failed. Disabled means the email is switched off under WooCommerce → Settings → Emails; failed means the site could not send mail — Renew Forge tries again three more times within 24 hours and tells the shop. - “Cancellation refused” in the journal. WooCommerce Subscriptions would not change the status. The shop was emailed; end the subscription by hand in wp-admin (the customer then gets the confirmation), then press “Mark as handled” on the dashboard notice.
- “Your cancellation is already being processed.” Another request for the same subscription was running; reload the page.
- Pro items are missing from the Compliance check. Update the free plugin first: each Pro release names the free version it needs in its changelog.
- Customers get two reminders before a renewal. WooCommerce Subscriptions’ own customer notifications are also on; switch one of the two off.
- No reminders are planned. Check the licence (Renew Forge → Licence) and Send reminders; press Plan reminders now. Monthly plans get a reminder only before the payment that ends each six-month period — the other payments need none under the Act; tick Every renewal if you want one before each.
- A reminder shows “Skipped” or “Missed”. Skipped: the reminder email is switched off in WooCommerce → Settings → Emails, or reminders were off (or the licence inactive) when it was due. Missed: its payment date passed before any send ran (the add-on, WooCommerce Subscriptions or the queue was not running), or an earlier reminder can no longer come before a regular one that has already gone. The note on the row says which.
- No “Cancel and refund” button. The feature is off or the licence is inactive, no cooling-off period is open (the 14 days have passed, and the last renewal is not one that opens a new period), or the customer already pressed it for this period.
- A refund is listed under Refunds instead of going through the gateway. The gateway cannot send refunds itself, the subscription is to goods (refund when they come back), the order was already refunded in part, or the gateway answered with an error — then check the payment provider before refunding by hand.
- The cooling-off period of a goods subscription looks wrong. It runs from the Completed date plus “Goods received” days: mark orders Completed when the customer has received them.
- SMS are not sent. The plan must be Store + SMS or Agency; a provider must be chosen and saved;
RNWF_PRO_SECRET_KEYmust be inwp-config.php(if it changed, enter the secret again). The reminder log shows the provider’s error for each SMS. - “This key is already active on as many sites as your plan allows.” Release it on the other site (Renew Forge → Licence → Release this site) or choose a plan with more stores.
